Lunatics Welcome!

August 11, 2008

Creative Lunacy

This summer is the hottest and driest I’ve ever experienced. The landscape of the Antelope Valley is parched. So it was a great and happy surprise for me to find a marketing oasis at the Farmer Middlebrook Marketing Event in Palmdale on August 1st. No desert of ideas or enthusiasm there, but a network of running streams, connecting our community, speaking to people’s passions and dreams.

Juan Williams of Creative Lunacy was one of the highlights. An international ad man landed in the Antelope Valley like a strange, powerful bird blown off course from his other migrating brothers. But no, it was no accident. The soil may look dry and rocky, but the roots will take hold and bear fruit. Welcome Juan.

    Hey Malia,

    Great to hear from you!

It just hit me that we met at Marie Calendar weeks ago. Forgive my forgetfulness.

You struck a nerve when you mentioned a kindred desire to uplift the creative services environment in the AV. In the next few weeks, let’s chat and exchange ideas to see how we can join forces to elevate the region creatively.

Thanks for including me in your blog. I am honored that you thought enough of me to share your thoughts.

    God bless,

    Juan Roberts

Juan, once again you hit a relevant spot with your Boot Camp at Cedar Gallery. All I can say is wow! If that weren’t enough, you give us Malia and her “Great Minds Do Exist in the Antelope Valley” narrative which was both funny and eye opening at the same time. All that was reinforced by Mr. Goins and his Art Institute.

All we gotta do is to keep reminding people to network their creative wares and I also believe Malia’s thoughts on sharing instead of competing is the answer. You do realize that this is pioneering stuff we’re talking about…and we’re the only ones doing it.

Remember: First Saturday of every month at Cedar Gallery will be something different and relevant to the creative processes in the AV. January 3 will see us off to The Bergamot in Santa Monica for a day-filled art excursion. If you’d like the info to this, Email me and I’ll see to it.

Got something to say?
